The Weser river, as a lifeline of the region, winds its way through the countryside in strong curves. An interplay of rivers and lakes, forests and moors characterize the landscape of the region. It is created in Hannoversch Münden by the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers. It is 477 kilometers from here to the North Sea.
While the waters were formerly used for fishing, to drive numerous water mills or as a transport route, today they offer a variety of water sports and leisure activities. It does not matter if you prefer to fish in peace or to take a boat trip with friends. Also for sport boaters and canoe tours there are ideal conditions.
